Recently downloaded Fongo. (free calls using data). Is there any carrier willing to offer data only plans that I can use on my z10?

I imagine if you were to provide proper documentation showing total hearing impairment they might be willing to provision a plan with only Data, like an Air Card. Of course if you were to purchase an Air Card they would provision the data plan for it without issue. Then you could or possibly be able to swap SIM. Just a thought or thoughts.....

Can't see why that would NOT be a viable option. Tablets usually do not make phone calls. Probably a good option actually. But an Air Card would cost a fraction of a tablet.

    Rogers

Just to name the ones I have personally tried.

fido has the best network and plan for VoIP.

*Fido being owned and run by rogers wireless, virgin being owned by bell canada.

WINDmobile (the carrier i'm with), independently run.

Of all the networks I tested, Wind Mobile is the worst network for VoIP.

A high speed DSL/Cable provider is always going to be better than a cellular carrier, due to excellent latency and no issues (lag, packet loss, etc.).

Yes that is the probably the biggest advantage.
