More accurately, BlackBerry made some modifications so they could include a forked version in their own enterprise app suite.

Still cool though! I just hate the nebulous term "partner".

Perhaps the beginning of the end for BBMe's conferencing feature.

Yes, you wonder if Zoom will eventually replace the video portion of BBM now?

If Zoom is now secured within BlackBerry Dynamics, any calling or conferencing on BBMe is redundant. It also doesn't come close to the features of Zoom.

We will have to see, but if the deal could potentially grow and flourish, it could help both and be beneficial for both companies.

Well, it only helps Zoom to gain clients who are using BlackBerry UEM - which pales in comparison to Zoom's normal traffic. But sure, every little bit helps.

Interesting that this 'partnership' actually goes back a few years.

Little BlackBerry DNA in a lot of today's successful services....

What if BlackBerry had not focused so much on proprietary software to support their phones, but had opened up products like BBM and BES to other platforms back in 2007 and 2008.

You'd have had to kick out Mike to make that happen, and back then, he was considered a hero and visionary by most people, and by a lot of Canada. Mike was always against anything that didn't directly and exclusively help BB's phone business, stepping over dollars to pick up pennies.
