Just liking the news today that Chen has a 5 year plan with Foxconn. But I am here wondering. Will they continue to build high end phones like this or will they focus on cheaper builds. I am sure there are a lot of people out there that if just tried this they would be amazed. Maybe by selling a cheaper build it will jump-start the sales of these phones. This thing is by far the best device I have ever used and highly recommend to all

From what the story says, they will focus on Mexican and Indonesian markets. Don't think they have the same need for high end devices as Europe and North America.

Enterprise customers are still going to want higher end phones. A 3g cheap phone wont cut it.

They stated they will make a phone for the enterprise market as well. What this real means is anyone's guess. I assume that means higher end though

I think its just expanding the market. The first device is targeted at Indonesia and emerging markets. They will still make make phones for the developed countries

I sincerely hope they do make a high end model because I buy every two years or earlier and to see where this Z30 had come from compared to os7. I will be watching to see the newest one in a couple years. We need more of these in people's hand. It's a phenomenal device

I think the Z30 will be the last BB10 phone released in North America for a while. I'm glad I picked one up!

Hopefully in a couple years when it's time to upgrade they will have turned things around and be releasing new devices here again.

Depends where you are. In Canada all the govt and major corp phones I see are 9900's and 9810's if they are from BB. I think in the next upgrade cycle many businesses will offer various alternatives.

I hope they will continue to make high end phones and tablets. Z30 is awesome and hopefully BlackBerry will bring new tablet in 2014.

Why? NOT releasing new products is what got them in this mess in the first place so I have a had time seeing them go back to that strategy. To me it simply sounds like they will be adding a new low cost option that will be the flagship of sorts in countries where the more economically priced phone turns a better profit. Not that they are neglecting us but rather just adding to the user base in other countries.

Likely, most of them will get Z10s, given the lowered prices on those phones. It's unlikely that many will be Z30s, or even Q10s, except for senior management or jobs that can specifically justify them. This is standard corporate practice (most people get the cheapest phone), which is why most people on BES5 have a Curve. This happens with iPhones, Androids, and WinPhones too.

Based on the conference call it will be sold to BES customers still. It is going through testing in US now on GSM carriers.

Seriously... why does everyone think that "initial focus" for 2014 on low end phones equals the end of high end phones.

But you are in the minority and not helping them survive. They need to make a profit and are hoping the low end market does that. If so they will slowly come back.

Maybe, they can make one more flagship within the next year, but the low cost market is where the money is for Blackberry at this time.
