I am trying to convince a friend to get a Z30. She was sold a Note 3 but is thinking of returning it.
She has some questions about compatibility and where to buy it outright. She lives in Toronto.
Can you buy them unlocked somewhere and where is the cheapest? I can't seem to find them on the Mobilicity website.
What are the general impressions about Mobilicity?
Is Mobilicity financially secure or are they having problems?

Koodo is the cheapest...but you have to buy at least 1 month plan.

After that I think it's Telus $600 off contact

She may want to check them both out...Telus may be cheaper for her if she's not a Koodo customer

Koodo doesn't seem to sell them anyway so she would have to buy the phone somewhere else.

Koodo is owned by Telus. (it's their discount carrier) They use the same network

I just checked out Koodo's website. They don't list the Z30 That's a bit strange because I at my Koodo store a few weeks ago & they said they were getting them. The website also doesn't list the Q10 but I got my Q10 there. May want to go there in person and ask, maybe they sell different phones in store then on the web. I hope this is the case because I have been saving up my Tab to buy a Z30 for my dad

At this point, odds are pretty good that Telus will be the cheapest outright price available in Canada until / unless Koodo gets it as well. Their device seems to be the most widely compatible one, though I'm not sure why as apparently Bell has the same device and Rogers will be getting the same one as well. So unlocking it and putting it on another network would not be an issue.

This said, if she's buying outright, has she priced out the options as far as combined data and potential roaming? All things to consider when picking your choice of network.
