Tough situation; Verizon Z30s appear to be out of stock, while Verizon Passports are nowhere to be found.

My next up grade is the Z30. I'm still rocking my Z10.

I have both devices, but find myself using the z30 more because of my hands, which have been bothering me as of lately because of the repetitive task I have been doing for the last 30 years are catching up to me.

I find my thumbs and hands get sore from pressing the physical keys more then using the touchscreen keyboard on the z30. I still have the passport because I love the device and hopefully with some medicine from my doctor to treat my hands, I will be back playing with it again.

But for now, I have the 10.3.0.1154 leak installed on my z30 100-5 and I am liking it. The 10.3 updates made it feel like a new device to me.

There is no CDMA variant for the Passport so you have to take the Z30. Still a great phone though.

Some others are in further complex situation.. I'm due to update now, and currently got the Z10 but if I'm afraid to upgrade to Z30 (which is quite old now) and then in less than 6 I could be hearing about a full touch flagship..

The z30 came out October 2013.. 1 year old phone is "quite old" I don't know about that.

Your only choice is the Z30 as the Passport will not work on Verizon wireless.

If you will be affected by a new flagship then I suggest you don't get the Z30.

But if you don't mind, then it's ok

After seeing the specs Passport was launched on I'm quite sure the next full touch flagship will have contemporary specs of the time it's launched within. But at the time Z30 was launched there already was quad-core phones out there. That's why I'm saying it's old now.. not on par with current flagship devices, neither with devices of its time

I had a Z30 and just bought this week the passport!
No comparison, the passport is much better device in all aspects!
But the Z30 that I was using for a year is a great device as well, if you are a touch screen fan or you are bothered by the size of the passport, go for the Z30! You will not regret it either.

I myself just got a Z30 after carefully considering the current situation with Passport (Digital River debacle, being out of stock and sold at inflated prices, app dimension problems, etc). Let's say, I am impressed with Z30, the battery life, the screen, the general responsiveness, the antenna are simply way better than the Z10. Z10 was essentially built using crappy hardware sold on premium at launch. Z30 should have been the device that commanded the premium price of Z10. Plus being an "outdated" model, I could get it at very reasonable price.

I have both. I couldn't go back to my Q10s, so I sold them, just like I couldn't go back to my Z10 after using the Z30, so I sold it too.

The Z30 didn't get any less nice because of the Passport. I only got it in March anyways, so I'm keeping it for the foreseeable future. They're so different though. They both exemplify the best of what BlackBerry is capable of. Those that say BlackBerry can't make a good touchscreen phone have been disproved by the Z30, and those that say that BlackBerry can't or doesn't innovate have been proven wrong by the Passport.

I love my Passport so much, but for those of you that must have a touchscreen phone, I hope BlackBerry can take all the high end features in the Passport and put them into a nice big touchscreen phone for you.

Have you looked into the premium phones sold on the blackberry site? $2000 for a porsche phone. Pretty spiffy! I use a Z30. It does the trick. The passport does have a bigger screen, which helps when reviewing docs, as a student, or a business person. Helps big time...still want that Porsche phone. Sawheet!!!

The Z30 is an all touch device and the Passport is not. Keyboard or no keyboard? That is the question.

If you want a PKB then PassPort. If you want a VKB get a Z30. The Z30 for me though as I like its form factor and it has brilliant speakers!!!

I agree. People 200 feet away from my Z30 can understand the words of a song!! Not like my Z10 that I can hardly hear in my pocket!

I have both and have gone back and forth between the two. Ultimately the Passport is faster and more powerful but I do love the shape of the Z30 a bit more for handling.
