im planning to purchase an all touch device as my back up phone or I should say phone that focuses more on media. I add z30 on the option because of its capability on running android apps that I rarely used its more like I wanna stay on blackberry and ill will be using it on viewing videos and playing games (most likely only temple run 2). though I do have an option on buying mid range android device..

Well considering OnePlus just dropped their prices, i'd suggest grabbing one of their devices. the X is a great phone for $269(CAD).

If you won't be using much apps and wish to stay with BlackBerry a little longer, then the Z30 won't hurt. Just a fare warning that Whatsapp will be discontinued on BlackBerry 10 after 2016 finishes.

Get the Z30, NO ANDROID device mid or high end compares for me at least. It's controversial what I'm saying on CrackBerry but it's been my experience, having high end Android devices and BlackBerry 10. Even in terms of connectivity the BlackBerry Z30 plays better than a Samsung smartphone on Samsung device.

A OnePlus 2 should be well priced now, or even a Sony Xperia Z5, LG G4 etc... Far better than the dated Z30.

I've got the priv, passport, and OPX, but am definitely looking forward to the OnePlus 3. May be enough to get me away from BlackBerry

Mid Range Android. The Z30 is too old and you can get more bang for your buck with a newer mid range Android phone in my opinion. The Z30 is nice but its also heavy, has a garbage screen, and the camera quality isn't great.

Exactly. He mentions media as the main thing, a Z30 certainly even in its time was surpassed by mid end Androids in media.

OP, if you can, maybe even look into a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus 64GB, it has a large 5.7inch QHD Super AMOLED display, fast Samsung Exynos7420 SoC (it will handle pretty anything you throw at it), Wolfson DAC, one of the best cameras around, a 3000mAh battery and Fast Charging.

It should be decently priced now.

The Z30 was a nice device, I had one. I would not get one over a mid-range Android now though.

I know nothing about games. If staying with BlackBerry matters as opposed to leaving for android, I know the Z30 does fine with videos, and they coes around $200 now.
