It would be great if the new BB10 devices in there final release had the charging dock contacts on the base of the phone, similar to the 9900. I know they have dropped them from all new Curve units recently and also the 9790. I just don't want to rely on USB charging because the micro USB sockets are so fragile. Just love dropping my 9900 onto the dock every night. So simple.

I hope they do something like the touchstone used with webOS phones, that has been my favorite docking solution, much better than what Nokia and HTC are doing because the touchstone had magnets that would align the phone and keep it in an upright position.

Couldn't agree more. One of the best features of my last two phones (8900 and 9900) was the charge stand on the night table.

Thinking more about this, why not go the way of the Playbook and use the magnetic contacts. If there is any snag on the cable it just dropps off and a dock could easily accommodate tbis.

I agree with you tbere, One of the main reasons I replaced my 9790 was the fact that it had no charging contacts, so I swapped it for the 9900.

An OEM charging dock along with some BB multimedia earphones and I'll be happy.

Would be nice if bb10 phone will allow wireless charging. Toyota will offer wireless charging in their car in the near future, and other manufacturers will do the same.

I would be extremely disappointed if they did not come with them. I never charge my 9900 via the USB sockets and I didn't with my 9700 either.

Yeah I really like my PlayBook having the magnetic charging in addition to micro USB. Universally, micro USB is extremely convenient, but having the rapid charger ability is awesome too. Sadly, I feel like we've seen the main design of BB10 (Z10) and none of that is there.. They say it's not totally final, but from talking to enough people and looking around, apparently what we have seen is not very far off from what it is gonna be. I'm buying it either way, but having to plug the phone into a cradle via the micro USB is gonna suck... Guess we'll just have to live with it though until they finally adopt wireless charging as the phone design seems like that's what is coming next / the elimination of the charging contacts. (will probably be in the next phone release, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it in the Z10).
