    They had threatened to be $699 at one point and WIND's recent history would suggest they'd be higher rather than lower. The $599 is a complete surprise to me and many others!

    I'm confused. I thought WIND was on AWS for HSPA+? How come their radio band information listed says:

    Frequencies / Bands: HSPA+ (850/1900/2100 MHz) EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)
    Edit: if the band listing is correct and complete, this Z10 would correspond to the STL100-1 variant.

    I am convinced that nobody is really sure of those frequencies. I wish Crackberry would contact BBRY and give us a definitive answer.

    I got the band information from the link in post#4...which is why it doesn't make sense! Usually companies don't list device-available bands that they don't use, but this here to me seems to be the opposite case: WIND may have left out the band it does use out of the listing (unless there was a major farm-out of the AWS spectrum that I don't know about.)

    The rules:

    Available for new Pay After activations with WINDtab;
    Available for new Pay After activations with outright purchase;
    Available for new Pay Before activations with outright purchase on any
    monthly plan;
    Not available for outright purchases without activation;
    Not available for employee purchase;
    Available for existing Pay Before and Pay After customers with outright
    purchase;
    Not available for Pay After WINDtab upgrades.

    The BlackBerry Z10 will be available for WINDtab hardware upgrades for
    existing customers on April 2nd, 2013.

    seriously F*ck these guys. My customer loyalty just walked out the door on these guys. I don't know why they make it so hard to try and support the underdog.

    They should have just made it available to all customers regardless if they are new or current. How many activations are they really going to have in March just because they have the same phone 5 other carriers in Canada have. Just because it is limited stock does not make me more understanding of being told they have the phone but I can't purchase it.

    Agreed. I haven't used my Windtab at all since I joined Wind and they told me I'm not eligible.

    This is ridiculous.

    Actually, this is a loosening of their rules. Previously with all their new phone launches, from about a year ago anyway, in order to get the phone you had to set up a new pay after account and put the phone on the tab. I don't necessarily like the way it stands right now but it's a darn sight better than what it has been until recently.

    This is the model number of the version WIND is selling:

    RFK121W

    Frequencies:

    HSDPA: 800 / 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100; LTE: 700 / 850 / 1700 / 1900

    If WIND does compete in the upcoming 700MHz auction it looks like this device will be ready for LTE.

    Don't be so sure. I asked about that and was told no by multiple sources.

    The poster above also states he doesn't have a Wind tab either and told he wasn't eligible.

    I'm going to Rogers tonight.

    Did you mean RFK121LW? If so, nice! This model will work on all major US and Canadian GSM carriers (HSPA+ and LTE.)

    WIND's rules for this device are really quite confusing but it basically means that if you have a tab, used or not, you cannot purchase a Z10 on a tab until either sometime in March or April (depending on what version of the rules you read) as it's considered a device upgrade and they're not allowable at launch. If you're a new customer or are activating a new account you can buy it outright or on the tab. If you're a new or current customer you can buy it outright.

    I know this doesn't seem simple or fair but this is a vast improvement on how they launch their previous phones.

    I was emailed by a friend of mine with the model number of her phone that she bought from WIND earlier today. I've emailed her and asked to check the model number, I'll edit this post with her reply.

    The L doesn't really make a difference, tbh. If the K was an H, then it would have made a difference (but it couldn't have been, because that's the European version.)

    I'm still stumped by Wind's product description on their webpage. RFK121LW makes the most sense given that Wind is an AWS network, but based on their listing, the Z10 could have been the other STL100-3 variant (RFF91LW), or even the RFG81UW/STL100-1.

    I had to do a bit of grocery shopping so I stopped by the local WIND corporate store on the way there. They've had a good day today it seems and are currently sold out of Z10s. They're getting more tomorrow but all are spoken for. I was also able to confirm the following model information:

    STL100-3 RFK121LW:

    HSDPA 800 / 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100; LTE 700 / 850 / 1700 / 1900

    If you're looking at getting the device you'll have to sign up for service as they're only selling them with activation. What some people are doing is buying the phone outright and setting up the cheapest plan, ie $20 p/m, as pre paid. Then you just don't pay for your following month. So the total cost of the phone would be $599 + $20 + HST (13%).

    That's pretty good for right now lol. A RFK121 for $700 (plus unlocking costs)
