With all the rumors/facts that BIS is no longer needed, does that now open any unlocked Z10 to any GSM carrier?

From what I can gather (from the UK owners thread), almost everything works without BIS, much like how any other phone handles data...except BBM.
Looks like some apps specific to BB will still require BIS.
I see...interesting. Thank you.
im pretty sure I read a thread here that said NO BIS for anything
BBM works just fine without BIS .... even BBM video
BIS is gone completely.
Someone need to do a "sticky" in the BB10 forum and explain about BIS, Compression, and Encryption for devices on Corporate BES and devices that are not.
no.more.BIS
I'm on Simple Mobile (which uses the T-Mobile network) and BIS is included at no extra charge with the legacy BB devices (When I was with Virgin Mobile, they charged an extra $10/month for BlackBerry plans which included BIS.). They've already been promoting the Z10 and Q10 on Facebook and the version that T-Mobile gets will work without being unlocked but unlocked GSM Z10s can be used on their network.
