I am pre ordering two for next week right now!!
this could have an interesting effect,,, attack the states from the outside in... ;)
Last I heard was that by Dec they had ramped up to 2 Million /mo
....Though if these sell-through rates continue they are going to have to drastically increase that
This is great. I'm happy
250.000 represent 0.83% of all the smartphones in UK. When people buy a new phone they use it a lot, let's suppose a 2x of browsing. That web traffic is not showing up in the Statcounter data for UK (BlackBerry market share).
1/29/2013 14.85%
1/30/2013 14.94%
1/31/2013 14.76%
2/01/2013 14.85%
Are they registering the new User Agent as I know there are issues where sites are not registering the BB10 user agent as BlackBerry phone and that it is being worked on.
idk, although there is no significant movement in the "unknown" category compared with previous days.
The data doesn't look very accurate, but a movement of 200.000-300.000 units in two days should have an impact.
If sales are that good RIM won't keep it in silence and the stock price either, so let see what happen after the weekend.
BlackBerry would not necessarily put this information out before earnings, numbers like these are usually reported by media and blog outlets.
Interesting and quite positive numbers. This will have a positive knock on effect with sales and future app development.
Folks, when I look at the big picture, it appears to me that the US delay was planned from the start. A little bit of smart marketing by good old Frank. Get the ball moving in a market that will give you sales and the momentum builds. Silence the "DOA" and "too little, too late". Way to play it RIM opps BB.
I think you have a signal to noise issue. I'm not sure why you would expect to pick up changes. Sales numbers are the best indicator not an abstract indirect measure.
I was thinking the exact same thing. Start off in a 1st class market where they know they will sell like hotcakes. Move to Canada followed by the US
That is a good way to look at it. At the end of the day releasing late in the US may turn out to be a good thing.
i agree ... and also provides RIM time to flush out bugs and incorporate some minor enhancements and get the apps number up while building good momentum!
i am actually wondering... (i'm sorry if someone or a thread answered this) .
to those who bought Z10, how much is the average price of the apps available now? is it the same like OS4-7 prices? around USD0.99-1.99/app?
i read somewhere Angry Bird costs USD1. but currently is FREE.
any idea on the prices?
I dont have one so I can not comment on the price other than to say that yes Angry Birds is free

True but i'm still pretty optimistic the sales are high. Most of my friends in the UK keep reporting that most of the stores they have visited were sold out
Well I have had to actively hunt for one (UK). All local stores (Carphone Warehouse, Phones4U) sold out. Eventually had to order online, and will not get it for a few days.
:-(
What were the stores saying? Did they say demand is crazy? Did they have a lot of units on hand initially?
I just spoke to an o2 rep online. Apparently, the phone is for 379.99 on PAYG.
It's also available for 20.50 on a 24 month contract from Phones4u (229 fee for phone) w/ 200mins, 750mb Data, Unlimited Texts and "two swappables"
Not bad. Not bad at all.
Last I read BlackBerry was producing 2 million devices per month or 46 every minute assuming a 24/7 production rate. At just one telco they are allegedly selling at 10 per minute. I can see problems here;)
Hot damn ! Am I glad I preordered now !! Yeeehaawwwwww
That's quite possible. When the device is released in the US there will [should] be more positivity online with people getting to use it, and with good sale numbers in the UK and Canada, some Americans may just see a reason to buy it.
If Misek who is half bear and bull is saying this then I am pretty sure he is right about hundreds of thousands. It seems realistic if Apple can sell 5 million in preorders in America.
excellent news, it is to the benefit of all smartphone users if BBOS10 does well.
welcome back to the game BB.
Why? Not questioning your theory, just wondering why, in your opinion, there could be problems.
