Z10 contact name identity help

Hi there,

Could someone on here tell me how to store contact information in my z10 correctly? I'm having a problem whereby when i receive a text message from someone already in my contact list, only the sender's number shows but not his/her name. I dont understand why that is and i have tried all sorts of settings for types of contacts to display but it doesnt seem to fix the problem.
However, if i send a new text message to the same person after selecting him/her from the contact list, the name shows up fine in the inbox.
Could someone kindly direct me as to what i am doing wrong???

I will take a guess. Look in your contacts app. Probably you have two entries for this contact. Most likely the first entry in the database has just that persons number. And perhaps the second has their name and number. There is a contact linking feature. So if you find there are two contact entries try linking them.

Also, look at the formatting of the number. If it has a 1 in front in your address book, it might not match what comes in from their text messages. The Z10 seems to be quite literal with their interpretations.
