if so, will there likely be any future bb, that will not need resetting?
I just wanted to ask this question for the latest bb.

Every device that can multitask needs rebooting, That includes iPods and iPhones.
I noticed on my friends iPod touch gen 4, She stopped being able to listen to music and play doodle jump at the same time.
I feel like ours is more of a Java problem though. so I don't think so.
If my phone starts lagging, which isn't too often, or if I start running out of RAM and deleting all history (calls, contact, browser, etc..) and messages (facebook, SMS, Email, etc..) doesn't help at all, then I will reset my phone.
Even my wife has to reset her Android phone once in a while.
Just like with a computer or laptop the BB or any smart phone for that matter needs to be rebooted every once in a while. I personally reset all my devices, Server, Laptop, and BB once a week. Cleans up any buggy mess that may be occuring.
Yessir, sometimes a reset is just necessary. I usually just do it when my phone starts lagging every once in a while.
I use quickpull once a day. It keeps my phone running like a champ! I rarely get the clock icon.
I normally do a battery pull or soft reset ( alt-shift-del) when I add a app or when I'm cleaning it with alcohol wipes.. Yes I clean my device. I take the otterbox commuter case off, the battery door pull the battery out and then give my phone a good wipe down then put it all back together... That keeps it running and looking great!! :-p

+1. I reset my device if it starts to get laggy. Best practice is to always make sure you are closing apps properly, and not leaving things runnung in the background, but after any big changes, or adding/removing apps etc... similar to a PC that says "you must restart your PC for the changes to take effect" it is a good idea to reboot your bb from time to time...
I've gotten into the habit of doing a battery pull every Sunday no matter if I need one or not. My Curve doesn't lag at all, but I've set aside that day to do my weekly service on it. Nothing to serious just mostly deleting old emails, sms messages, etc. that I had stored up from the previous week. It just seem right after taking all those files off my phone to do a battery pull to "close the deal".

I always have a scheduled reboot every morning at 3:30 a.m.
Phone goes off at 9:00 p.m., comes back on at 3:00 a.m. and reboots at 3:30 a.m.
I do it about every few days just to keep everything runninh smoooooth. Doesn't hurt. Like everyone else said, even when i had my iPhone i had to do a reset every few days and almost twice a day when i had my Android phone.
Getting into the habit of doing a battery pull when I'm at home before I go to bed each day. Not a hassle at all since I'm not using the phone and it keeps the phone fresh.
I only do mine every 5 to 10 days. Basically whenever I go in and delete a bunch of text messages and emails I'll do a battery pull to give it a fresh start. That's it, though, unless it's in the course of installing/uninstalling an app.
Coming from an old Bold 9000 I got in the habit of doing a battery pull every morning after its charged all night and before I leave for work. Still do it with my 9700 though I don't need too. I probably only need to once a week but old habits die hard.

I do it every few days when it starts to lag or I get the clock. I get it more on os6 being on a 9700 due to the leak I believe.
No worries, every few days I can deal with. Now some of those old berries it was once a day if not more, lol!
Making huge strides. ;)
Also my Androids and wife's Android would need it once in awhile as well.

I reset my BB all the time to keep the system cache cleared. I haven't found another wsy to do this.

I will also reset mine every few days to clear the cache, and keep it fresh.
I reset mine almost every day when I change my battery. I'm ready for more juice about every afternoon about 4:00.
Today is an exception. Probably because I spent 3 hours in the dentist's chair this morning.

I have to agree that I do the same thing. Once a week I do a reset using Quickpull which is like a battery pull to retrive memory and I do use an alcohol pad as well but only on the trackball once I turn my berry off for the night and I do this once a week myself. It's all good and keeps things moving.
its a tool called memory up pro use it if your running low on RAM
No, just no.
Anyway, alt+shift+del twice does the trick to simulate a hard reset for me.
