Hey there guys, Blackberry Soon-to-Be Addict, new in here, hi everyone =)

Since this is a REAL Phone, I don't wanna damage it or do something that could compromise it's lifespan, so my question is the following:

Is it right to leave your phone on 24/7? I usually don't mind on a lolphone, but this is a whole new level, I never turn it off, I wanna know if any of you knows if it's damaging to the battery or the phone to never be turned off.

    Thanks!

Mine hasn't been off since I got it. Don't even think you can properly turn the Bold off to begin with, it just goes into sleep. You'll be fine lol... Any phone will be fine for that matter as long as you charge it.

I leave mine on all the time also. Do a battery pull about once every couple weeks.

i personally recommend a daily battery pull (scheduled soft reset at 3 am)

Now, I ask myself, is a PHYSICAL battery pull the same as a soft reset? Cuz I soft reset my Bold like every 2-3 days.

You need a 3rd party app for a schudeled reset, I imagine. After days and days of tweaking my Bold, I've never found such thing as a auto soft reset.

It's my understanding that Quikpull simulates a hard reset from a battery pull. That's what I've always heard.

True but it's fully not the same. As you stated it "Simulates" a reset.

But that debate has already been done and over with.

Honestly I never knew these phones has power buttons

I have not done a battery pull for about 472437 and still going strong!!!!

I can not remember the last time I turned mine off. A weekly battery pull is usually standard, but as for turning it "off," I dont think I ever had.

grab quickpull from the crackberry store, and use that for scheduled reboots, if you leave it on 24/7 it's not a problem even without rebooting unless your memory gets too low (<12mb). once it dips below 12mb you'll have random deletion of messages and logs etc.

I leave mine on 24/7 and do battery pulls/quickpull whenever I install something or notice my memory getting a bit low.

I turn mine off when I know that I won't be able to use my phone for a couple hours. I work long shifts so I try to conserve my battery

I have my storm on 24/7. I think it is better to have the phone on all the time since it allows the battery to discharge in a regular rate.

I never turn it off. I have a spare battery and charger and change the battery every morning. That takes care of the reboot issue and no cords in bed why I'm reeding ebooks.

My phone goes off, not silent but actually off, when I sleep. As
for battery pulls, keyboard or software resets I never do them.
Complete waste of time. My current uptime on my Pearl is 60+
days. For the Curve it is close to 100 days.
