No, I wouldn't. Not crazy about windows 10. I don't like live tiles (they can be disabled, I know) and I don't like tiles, period. The screen looks like someone ate a bag of Skittles and then threw up all over it. I guess you can tell that I prefer icons, lol. I don't even like Material Design icons either. To me they look like the lazy designer products. People who have no actual artistic talent so they have to draw and produce simple forms. Man am I going to get scewered for this--relax it's only my insignificant opinion!

That's ok, we all have opinions.

It will be marketed to the business crowd. If it performs as promised, it could be a very nice product.

No. Just another weak mobile OS, like BB10, Android and iOS, but without the apps.

I'll happily buy a Windows phone when it runs true Windows software, not a gimped version that just looks like it.

Microsoft is on the right track, but they need hardware to improve to run real windows on mobile. 2-3 years, I estimate.

I think you're right. That's what they're headed for. Should be interesting in a couple of years.

Exactly. 2-3 years from now its possible Intel comes up with a 5g chip based on the x86 instruction set. By that time Windows 10 mobile wud hav evolved into a fuller os.
If MS or others make a phone on this chip & Windows 10, such a phone will run the x86 applications.
That would be true continuum & a real enterprise phone.
Till then we may see a few models of the surface phone with SnapD.
But speculating all this makes me feel sad for bb.

I'd be willing to try it. In the end it all comes down to how easy it makes it for me to get things done. BB10 has been great, but with no support has a limited life span left.

Everything thing I read and see is that the MS CEO is less committed to Win10 mobile than Chen is to BB10. Microsoft has stopped promoting it. No mention at the Build or upcoming Ignite conferences.

Microsoft's mobile strategy is to promote their apps and services on iOS and Android.

Microsoft has clearly written off their original approach to Windows Mobile, based on their mobile OS and their acquisition of Nokia. And they are certainly committed to multi-platform support. But they have also been quite successful with their Surface tablets, at least the ones running the real Windows OS.

I think Microsoft knows that a mobile Surface phone running Windows 10 Pro could be a category killer in the Enterprise market, as IT departments could easily secure it and issue it as a single device (no laptop nor desktop required) to probably 50% of their employees who don't need more than a good Atom processor for their daily tasks.

Currently, it's not feasible to build such a device on the Intel x86 platform. But that may change in the next couple of years, and many industry people believe Microsoft is working on a Surface phone.

The logical endpoint of device convergence is a single pocket computer that can be used anywhere. Neither iOS or Android are robust enough to meet that need. Windows, MacOS, and Linux are.

A little to big. Wife has the I6s and it just does not fit anywhere. If it was the size of my z 30 I would. I like the idea of a phone that is my computer. Not sure we are there yet but suspect in a few years we will be.

If I was in the market for an all-touch device, I would be eagerly looking for BB alternatives so possibly.

After getting shafted several times, I am no longer under the illusion that BB 'deserves' my business. If I buy more BB products it'll be on my terms and not Chairman Chen's 'return to profitability' BS.

I like Windows Mobile OS but I cannot seriously use it because of the lack of apps. It is even worse than BlackBerry 10; and I actually checked their app store to see if I can get by.

There are also some apps on BlackBerry 10 that are not found else where that I would like to keep with my BlackBerry too.

How's HP's build quality with phones? As bad as most of their laptops?

If, then, no thanks. Any info? :-)
