The Android runtime is great. With 10.2.1 now officially out the application gap is practically filled. Even with this I know there are some people who don't install Android applications making the Android runtime useless.

But wouldn't it be better if you could get BlackBerry 10 phone without the Android runtime and if you need it install it via BlackBerry Link or BlackBerry World.

I guess, but it really doesn't affect your phone if you don't use it.

Not sure how it would be better? Also corporations can already do this by using BES10. Android player does not exist in the work space, so restricting a device to work space only kills the runtime.

No real reason to. It's simply API translation and not a full on virtual machine running an independent OS. It'll have no impact on resources if no apps are running, and is actually required for some apps in Blackberry World.

How about you don't use it if you don't like it/ or want to use it and others do if they want? wtf is up with people and asking for less options.

Kinda like saying you want the phone without all the additional languages, or the voice control or the flashlight app in the settings.

If you don't use it, it really doesn't make a difference to anything else.
