Compatibility wise, bb10 as a desktop computer, not for me. It would be like a Chromebook or something like it, no thank you. I'd spend my $300 - $500 - $1000 on a real laptop running Windows or OSX.

No, not until they learn to build a more competitive phone with the apps needed.
Imagine a BlackBerry laptop with no programs/apps.
Again, no.

the should make a desktop mirroring app. so that it mirrors that of the phone to your computer. all makes and brands included. pc mac and linux.also update bridge for pb again.
Never. If it's anything like there desktop software from the past (BB Link) you couldn't pay me enough to use it.
I think this is really possible in the near future because BlackBerry is championing a unity programme where the lines between different OS'es dissappear. So if BlackBerry is able to process apps written for iOS and Windows & Android it could be a reality.

There will probably be a front camera as I assume BB would still want people to be able to use bbm video.
I am not sure about the rest of the World, but there is a reason why U.S. Governmental agencies use Linux, and it isn't because it's cheap. Off the top of my head, the U.S. Navy, NASA, U.S. Postal Service, FBI, maybe the NSA, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Census Bureau I believe, and a handful of States, all use Linux.
no, thee would be no games, softwares or apps make for it.
I think they should come out with an anti-virus software. I don't think they can go into more hardware. I think they should be anything security, because that's all the image they have left. Security camera software, home security, car alarms,,, anything in those fields I think people would buy.

Does a little mouse arrow come up on the screen?
Extremely unhappy with T-Mobile not releasing 10.2 yet...
What magical "progamme" is that? I do think the need for apps is going to slowly change and move to where a browser is the only true app your device will need.... but we aren't there, we aren't even close. Saw a report on the number of business that are still using Windows XP and not ready for it to be EOLed by MS. The corporate world moves at its own pace... as BlackBerry has learned with the release of BB10 and the corporate worlds snubbing it so far.
There are way too many Windows programs that I use at home to think about anything other that a Windows Platform. But I will say that with the iPad the need to use my computer has been reduced greatly. At work it would be impossible as we use three different programs that are Windows only, all are database driven and I don't see them becoming "cloud" type programs anytime soon.
It already does this... just connect a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and your phone to the TV/monitor via HDMI. The bluetooth takes a minute to pair the first time you do it (just like when you first do it on a PC) and then after that, it's seamless. You get the mouse pointer and everything. This has been working since Playbook days. With a z30 and a miracast enabled monitor, you don't even need the HDMI cable. Walk into the room, pair and away you go.
I have windows 7,xp,8, Ubuntu. Yes I would like to have another operating system.

Yeah but the OS home screen is stuck in portrait mode, not landscape, so it's a fail.
Miracast and OTG needs some work on integration with eachother.

Some of u would really buy anything BlackBerry puts out...
What would be the point lol? A desktop OS from BlackBerry would be even less supported than BB10 is as a mobile OS. No way at all it offers more functionality than Windows or even a Mac

This thread is a joke right? What build of Linux are you running?
