I am curios: Who of you would like to see a new Playbook and actually buy it?

I'm really looking forward to see your opinion!

    Therefore you got three choices:

    O Yes, definitely

O Yes, but only if ... [tell us your conditions]

    O Never

    Thread title is misleading

"Would you buy a new Playbook?" IS NOT EQUAL TO "WOULD YOU BUY A NEW VERSION OF THE PLAYBOOK".

We all would like to see a new tabelt from BlackBerry. That didn't really require a thread, nor poll. Buying would depend on each user cases's needs...

Yes, but only if ... [tell us your conditions]
Also a given, hardware would have to be on par or superior with the other offerings and it would have to run BB10 and have at least a full year of software support (and considering the Z10 is getting updates to this day, it shouldn'r really be a problem.

I've read some other statements around here, so I was really wondering how many of you really wouldn't trust BB in building another Playbook.

For myself: I think BB could make a fantastic tablet, if they just move OS 10 to the Tablet. The features, including the hub and the possibility to use Android apps is all I need. And of cause a good update policy, but I think since OS 10, that's really well done, so this should be true for a BB tablet, too.

Hmm, only if more apps are available. Currently I use an iPad Air II for apps that are either not available in BBW or cause issues. Thus if I got rid of it for a BlackBerry PlayBook, I'd need access to all those said apps...

No. Tablets are primarily media consumption devices. This is not BB's strength.

It's funny, but I have been watching my media on a HP Touchpad which is an antique Snapdragon 8060 converted to run Android Kitkat. It is used almost only for Netflix. What can I say, the display panel is comfortable.

All the new tablets are so focused on making the screens as blue as possible with scads of pulse width modulation and temporal dithering flicker that they're just not nice to have.

There'll never be another PlayBook, a tablet comes after a significant investment in hardware which we can see is changing currently toward software like Sega.

give it 6gigs of ram, 1tb hdd, 4k screen, 12 mp front cam and 22mp rear cam, keep the currents speaker set up and then price it cheaper than an Ipad. sure.

No. After owning an android tablet and using ipads and the playbook, I wouldn't bother with a glorified phone OS tablet again. Windows or nothing. I have a Toshiba Encore 2 Write, and the stylus is brilliant. Combine that with full windows, and you have a tablet that is as versatile as tablets get.

    No way.

My iPad (an extremely disappointing piece of technology) is an exclusive Netflix viewing machine. I do not see the point buying another tablet at all especially one that doesn't support Netflix or have a video store.

Yes probably. Just bought my first tablet ever. Fire hdx 8.9 I see that my Z30 is better for browsing Facebook if you don't need answering comments. Mail etc etc. Use my tablet for ereading media connecting etc but would love a tablet better for office.

Yes, I would definitely buy a BB10 Playbook given it has good specs. The Playbook was the device that introduced me to Blackberry and it is still a good surfing the web. A Tablet would be a good exercise for blackberry to show that it can scale up their UI to higher resolutions and display dimensions. Also it would be nice if they could introduce keyboard and mouse support.

this is the a good question...

    I vote only IF.
-They need to give options for andriod apps with google play. FULLY running no BS
(so those Facebook apps, Netflix apps, all running fine)

for enterprise, they can turn off the feature back to secure andriod which need permission by admin base on apps or by BES control

Then the tablet has strength of BB10, hubs, keyboard, Good speaker for viewing multimedia...

it is a perfect tablet, I am not heavy gamer, currently the 10.3.1 andriod player is running good enough already. Only thing is missing the is the google play for progress backup, once it is addressed, then there is no reason to bash. It will be a device that can address both side needed.

I just need bridge to mirror from BB10 to PlayBook and allow touch function input from PlayBook back to BB10. Otherwise, PlayBook already has what I need. Better hardware with same PBOS won't make a difference. Same hardware with BB10 won't make the PlayBook significantly more usable for me.

Short answer: YES! I still love my PlayBook and I try with all my little might to use it, but somebody -eyeballs BlackBerry fiercely- has made it very difficult to do...

Long answer: (same as the above, but with some long drawn-out speech about BlackBerry not abandoning it again...) I'm not sure I can handle that heartache all over again... </3

I live by a very stern "No Berry left behind" credo and that was just riDAMNdiculous...
