I don't know how successful Samsung's Chaton messenging service is, but if Samsung is not interested in purchasing BB10, it would seem that BBM would be right up the Korean giants alley.

Samsung is surly going to unveil its answer to the android control question sooner rather than later, especially when the world sees Googles push for stock android independence coupled with consumer mind share, with the release of the upcoming Nexus 5.

Samsung have the handset numbers but do not have a pivotal cross platform app yet, to give them the social networking muscle they so strategically crave.

Personally, with android Jelly Bean compatibility baked in, I think samsung would be well advised to make a bid to acquire the BlackBerry 10 operating system, and therefore be independent of Google whilst still maintaining a high level of compatibility with android apps.

Microsoft seems to have passed up on entering a serious bid for BlackBerry.

Maybe Samsung still has some interest in the former heavy weight champ.
