    Why 3rd and 4th be duking it out when they can combine forces?

    Think Lumia 925 hardware, BB10.2 OS and a Z10-esque design.

    Sweeeeeeet.

    Really now, there are a few articles out there saying the same thing, that they should join forces to make a dent on the Android/iOS reign. I am just not sure if either company agrees to this.

    What could come out of it though:

    • Nokia hardware/BB10/BB design phone;
    • BlackBerry stong support for Microsoft's services;
    • Better Windows Phone 8 support for BlackBerry services;
    • BBM for WP8;
    • Nokia would have two OS options available (they didn't go Android because they feared one company taking control of it).

    I don't see how this can be bad for us consumers. But I am not exactly sure how much value BlackBerry, Microsoft and Nokia see on this...

    In the current situation it seems highly unlikely. Mainly because Nokia is a 100% committed to WP. And even legally bound to some extent until 2015 if I remember correctly. This would mean Microsoft getting involved in the whole thing which is a different story all together. But under the right circumstances this is my dream team.

    The right circumstances being if Nokia can find a way to work with BB completely independent from Microsoft. Essentially meaning Nokia carries two different lines of smartphones. Lumia and BB-Nokia devices.

    Nokia makes great, beautiful, durable hardware. Nokia innovates quite a lot even when Microsoft cannot keep up pace with regular software updates. BB10 is doing a fair job as far as I can tell with the pace of its BB10 updates. This would empower Nokia to do a lot more with their hardware.

    Also BB has the image of being safe and secure. Nokia has the image of being innovative and durable. Both have the image of being great for communication. I would love for both of them to come together. For me it would be the most exiting thing in the smartphone world since the iPhone.

    No I don't want Nokia even touching BB.
    BlackBerry will be fine without them.
