BB10 is not efficient because of the Android runtime. BB10 couldn't run on the PlayBook because the memory requirements are so high to run it. The Processor and GPU in the PlayBook aren't much less powerful than those in the Z10

The Android runtime should have never appeared in BB10. It has caused more challenges than what it's worth. Could you imagine the PlayBook running pure BB10 with 100% PBOS app compatibility? It could have extended the life of that product. Plus BB10 would have a tablet in its ecosystem to this day.

If they can offer nice spec and price why not? I'd like to have one BlackBerry 10 device and Android device, both from BlackBerry! Ideally for me, BlackBerry 10 is business centric, and Android is consumer centric

Plus they gotta maintain build quality like Z10, I love it

Hence my belief that the Android RT will be the death of BB10.

The RT leaves BB10 in limbo. There's no incentive for Devs to produce native BB10 Apps, and the RT will never be as good as "real" Android in running Android Apps.

I'm sure BB realised this awhile back but putting the RT genie back in the bottle... Well,it's too late now because, without the RT, BB10 doesn't really have Apps.

I still have a soft spot for the PB. I wish BB would unlock the bootloader, or put BB10 (minus the RT) on the Playbook. Neither is likely though...

In a way, the Android RT even makes the transition from BB10 to Android easier. People are already familiar with Google Play, have an Amazon app store account already, have their set of Android apps that they use, know how to navigate around them, etc.

It's almost inevitable, why not be there on the other side waiting for them?

Yes, that's another way of looking at it.

Though it won't be a popular view as BB10 doesn't survive the transition to Android.

I'm not even sure that BB10 (with or without the RT) has a future in Enterprise... Businesses use Apps too (expenses, timerecording, and specialist domain Apps).

It really is an app driven culture. John Chen knows that with his app neutrality plea. It's an admission that BlackBerry 10 can't compete.

That's not nearly as clear of an admission of such a realization as is the decision to offer core BB10 components as.... APPS on other platforms.

Yep I'll be buying an Android tablet at some point in the future because it will support Blend, run the Android apps I bought and install via SNAP, and BlackBerry doesn't care about keeping me as a customer. If I don't see a high end full touch by early next year then the GS7 is likely what I'll look at, or an IP7. BlackBerry needs to realize that you can focus on Enterprise, and still support the customers you converted to the Z line at the same time. Instead they would rather lose those customers to Android and hope I keep BBM so they can spam me with stickers and ads that I will NEVER buy.

Yes... as for your last point regarding "spam...stickers & ads" exactly what part of that is attracting enterprise customers? all that folderol makes a regular user like myself turn my back on BBM seeing no use for it whatsoever...
