From my recent warranty experience with blackberry, it is very clear that blackberry discriminates between devices bought from shop blackberry and other stores.

Usually, shop blackberry prices are more expensive than from other reputable stores like amazon, bhp, and Newegg. Do you think it is worth it to buy from shop blackberry just for the better warranty process?

I think blackberry should at least make it clear to customers that the warranty is not the same if the devices are bought from the third party stores. Many customers would not know this; and I certainly did not know about that.

In my opinion, no. I have owned countless BlackBerrys over the years. I mean dozens, and have never used BlackBerry warranty ever.

Updates might also be a point. Some third party purchases are just carrier overstock, unlocked... (I know, my Q5 is a Claro branded one)...

For BlackBerry 10, just go the least expensive route. For Android, I want them 0-day patches... that means buying unlocked through BlackBerry or BBMobile, however they're going to do it.
