I've only owned my Bold 9780 for a year now, so I am no expert. I keep reading how everyone has to pull the battery when there are problems. In the year I have owned the phone I have not pulled the battery once(I'm not a super heavy user). What I do when things seem alittle funky is use the Left Alt - Right Caps - Delete keys at the same time. This causes the phone to reboot. For me it has always worked.

Am I missing something by not pulling the battery?

PS. After using my Playbook with the swipes, going back to an iPad feels archaic.

It's about the same thingy though, no worries.

You're doing just fine. Pulling the battery is a more thorough reset. Just remember it as an option. It's especially useful if your phone freezes, and alt-shift-delete isn't possible.

You can compare the two methods to your PC. Where you can either hit restart or shutdown. Shutdown and then starting up again will achieve a better PC reset than just performing a restart.

It's the same for your BB.
