I wouldn't get this. Now, if I could slap this thing on the wall, my phone would stick there magnetically and charge in 30 minutes and stop charging when full... we got a winner!
not possible , i think its just a prank .. wireless charging is very hard as it will cause all the ions in the atmosphere to get 'active' and fly around.
This technology has been around for a while. And yes, it is real.
Get an automatic watch like Seiko, Citizen, Timex, Rolex etc. They all have automatics. All you do os wear them and they stay wound from movement, now if the BlackBerry could do that.
I'll second the electric toothbrush; old news on this charging system.
Also a while back some guy did this in his lab to run low voltage items wirelessly for power. Old news.

Personally i think there should be inductive charging for everything. It would make alot of things easier. Instead of having different cords for all your electronics when you get home just throw everything on the mat and they all charge..
Well if they did a true wireless anywhere charging (would be cool) but if i'm not mistaken it'd very easily fry everything in between phone and power source lol. a phone with kinetic charging now that would be cool
Oh, the powermat! I saw this like 6-7 months ago on a "This year in Tech" thing on my xbox 360! They had one example with a wall made of this stuff (with drywall overtop) and you just set lamps on it and then slide them around until you like where they are. Or another example was a counter with a blender, a laptop, a light, and a phone charging off it all at once. Cool stuff.
