I decided to take a look at the Windows Phone store just to compare the app situation with our own Blackberry World. I have to admit I am impressed with all the new apps that WP has managed to get.

I made a list of top apps on WP that are missing on BlackBerry:

    Pandora
    Kik Messenger
    Netflix
    Wells Fargo
    Amazon
    Viber
    Shazam
    Hulu+
    Chase
    IMDB
    Vevo
    Line
    Voxer
    Spotify
    Bank of America
    Tumblr
    Map Quest
    LivingSocial
    Redbox
    Yelp
    Paypal
    Domino's
    Xfinity TV
    Home Depot
    Vimeo
    Zillow
    Utorrent Remote
    Craigslist
    Bloomberg
    Pizza Hut
    DirecTV

I will stop here, but I could keep going . I think this list explains why BlackBerry 10 is not selling. Now I want to reverse things a bit AND this is an honest question:

What apps are on BlackBerry 10, but not on Windows Phonw?

meh don't care, only two in that list matter to me, PayPal and Vevo, both of which I can do from my Q10 and Dev B's browser

wow. That is alot. However a few things give windows the advantage.

    1. They OS has been out longer.
    2. They have a larger ecosystem/audience. The apps can be available on PC/Table/phone.

It make better sense for some devs to develop app since many people will use a window pc.

I hope you agree that a lot of people do care about at least 1-2 apps in that list.

None of those on the list are of any interest . Though I am not a heavy app user in the first place.

The only thing on the list I would have wanted is Shazam, but Soundhound works better. With their new update, when I have no network connection, it will even save the sound clip to try and tag later on.

Again, not everyone cares about those apps in the list. And those people are buying the smartphone they like. Are you one of those who's weeping because they didn't know that AppWorld didn't have Netflix?

The only missing item for me is Deutsche Bank app which is available only on iOS (not even android). I know some people who'd love to have Viber but it's also coming in for 10.2

Microsoft can throw cash at those companies to get their apps, BlackBerry can't do that.

And they should be. Windows phone has been out longer then BB10 and Microsoft doesn't mind loosing Billions to keep themselves still in the game.

That doesn't help kris, we need these apps if we want this platform to survive.

Ps : I am not interested in any of the list. Only rbc is missing in my app wish list

Wouldn't be nice if the "I have what I want" and the "who needs that anyway" people out numbered the ones who do want those instead of those people out numbering you by a very large margin.

I put up a list of more than 30 Apps missing on BlackBerry and all you could do is to pick on 2 apps that you don't consider to be top apps? Seriously?

This list is based on the top 200 free apps. So yes, they are top apps at least for Windows users.

Partly due to the fact that Blackberry 10 is a new OS and Blackberry hasn't gotten developers to get on board yet. Blackberry could be doing everything in their power to get developers to give in but they don't have to comply. The only apps I used when I had my iphone 5 was Amex banking and a few sports apps. If Blackberry could get my banking app I would be fine.

Well, yes, you say that but just because you don't care doesn't mean that millions of others do. The Windows Store seems to be chock full of top apps. BlackBerry World simply does not have them

Actually, with the exception of Bank of America and wells Fargo, I don't consider any of them to be top apps. Those two just happened to be the most ridiculous.

Many of these apps apply only to the US market. I said many not all. I'd be interested to know what other top apps from other countries are missing.

I'm with you. People can't stay in denial about the app problem. A lot of members have the attitude "If it isn't on BlackBerry, nobody should need it and those who do want it are just sheep".
