I am looking into buying a used 8320, unlocking it and using it in an Eastern European country with a local sim card. There is no Blackberry service in that country and no data plan. My biggest concern is: Will I be able to use the phone's WiFi capabilities to access internet, gmail, some apps using a WiFi connection?
As I understand, Gmail app or the Gmail e-mail push will not work, correct? In addition, unlike the 8120 for which T-mobile requires additional $9.99 per month for WiFi usage, T-mobile 8320 WiFi has no limitations aside from frequency issues, correct?

NO!! The $9.99 plan is for email only. You should check the T-Mobile forum.
Some people have been billed outrageous international data charges. Its
very confusing.
I am going to unlock the phone and stick in a SIM from a local carrier in that country. It will no longer be affiliated with T-mobile, only that it will be branded T-mobile phone. I will make sure the local carrier disables data stuff so I don't accidentally rack up a huge amount.
As I have come to understand, both 8320 and 8120 have WiFi which can be used to access internet without one having a specific BB or data plan. Could you guys confirm this. Thanks
