Despite how advanced phones get, and our personal tastes, we can all agree that call quality sucks.

I make more phone calls from my office land line simply for better volume and clarity. To me productivity doesn't just mean typing emails and texts, it's the ability to hear the other person!

I don't think I have ever heard static or interference, etc. My Blackberries are way louder for call quality than my iphone or any other older Moto/Nokia I have had. I think BB's are designed to be used in a Trading House with people shouting, etc and I actually have to turn the ear volume down in most cases. On a busy street with lots of traffic, I can always hear the person on the other end.

I believe BB designed audio for conference call (put on table with a group meeting carry on like speaker phone).

Yep, the Z30 Natural Sound multiple mics and surrounding speakers make for amazing conference call quality. Especially when it is two Z30s communicating.

Depends on carrier and where you live and what service as well as phone.

I will say this. With all the money these phone companies make the infrastructures should be able to keep up and no dead spots or poor coverage areas or dropped calls should exist unless for some remote area that doesn't allow towers or something.

I have tmobile and there are dead spots still and dropped calls from time to time.

Except for buildings and people who don't want unsightly RF-emitting cell towers near where they live.

Give me good quality from my car, please! In spite of several headsets and Bluetooth speakers I'm so tired of being able to hear them, but them not being able to hear me.
My Passport in connected to my Uconnect in my Challenger (14, so the older 6" system) is awesome...almost like the person is in the car with you...but then again it's the top system offered for that car (7.1 with the Harmon Kardon subs).

Audio quality is only as good as the lowest quality link in the chain.
Even if your car's Bluetooth supports HD voice, the PSTN(public switch telephone network) limits the audio bandwidth to <3.5 Khz.

I have not had any issues with my z30 classic or passport. Even my z10 I found to be great. I had a gs5 that was miserable had the tin can sound. My moto z was also really good. My g5 that I'm using now also has stellar reception and volume. No complaints about any phone in the past couple years really. All on the Bell mobility network

I still use my phone as a phone.... but I'm over 50.

Even here at work, a lot of conversation between employees and customers is done via email, and of late, more and more is via text.

Probably because they don't agree with most of the people who respond, so they go away and pout.

But, for the third post in a row, you see how interesting it is to observe people pigeonhole their own ideas from a fairly open ended topic we started from.

    I never mentioned BlackBerry.

    Never mentioned carriers.

Didn't mention bb10 version or radios.

All I did was mention cell phones.

    Very interesting
