Will BB 10 work on a normal data plan in some situations, if not all? I travel a LOT internationally and I always plugin a local sim card of the place I am traveling to. Most prepaid sim cards dont have BB data. So, it'd be cool if BB 10 worked on normal data plan , even if with reduced feature-set. For eg: I don't mind losing "push" notifications for the time period but I want it to still work. Like other phones. Ideally, BB specific data plan should give you some enhanced functionality but BB should degrade gracefully on a normal data plan.

Just like currently...you WILL need a BB Data plan to access things such as BBM and Email.

I was hoping atleast some apps would be usable on non-BB data plan. Bypass NOC. If BB's native email client doesn't work, it'd be nice to be able to download and use a third party email client app for when you are on a regular data plan.

In terms of apps internet using Internet, I don't know if they will require a BIS account...maybe someone else does?
