I purchased a Blackberry 8530, for the WiFi.
I never use the WiFi, I could have had a Tour or upgraded to an S2.
But my question is, Would it save me some battery and be faster if I shut off the Cellular connection then just used WiFi to help?

So you somehow want to help the WiFi you never use for the phone you bought for the WiFi?

Everythere you'll see WiFi listed as a battery killer. Thing is, I don't think anybody ever tried what you are proposing (specially because it would stop the phone from being a phone).

Give it shot and tell us the results.

    Ok that was funny.

You can turn your phone service off and still use wifi to browse the internet and such, but you won't be able to receive calls or msgs..
