WiFi Problems
I'm having this weird weird problem.
I had a Blackberry Curve 8520 . When i had it, i believed the wifi to be faulty as whenever i tried to connect to our wireless router at home it would not work.
It would attempt to connect and then work for a while and then gradually crawl to a halt, stop working and fall back to 3G/GPRS. This happened no matter how close i stood next to the router, and sometimes when i forced the blackberry to "hotspot browser". Our router is the Netgear DG834G v4. I took it for repairs who (after 4 weeks) just reflashed the blackberry to the same version. The same thing happened with the wifi afterwards.
I have a Bold 9700 instead now and exactly the same thing happens.
I thought it was the router that went pop but it seems that it isn't because i bought the same version when i thought our last one died - it didn't, the power pack did - and the same results happen.
I'm on T-Mobile UK. Interestingly whenever i lost network signal the wifi would instantly reconnect and work without a hitch. Both the 8520 and 9700 did this.
I have tried a number of ideas:
Use the new identical router: Same results.
Updated the router to newest netgear firmware: Same results.
Reflash the router to newest custom DGTeam firmware: Same results.
Set a static IP for the blackberry via the router gateway: Same results.
Updated the blackberry to the newest firmware on blackberry desktop manager: Same results.
The only constants in this situation is the router (and model type) and my mobile operator/sim card. Does anyone else have any ideas or magical solutions?
