Hey everyone. I have a friend with an 8900, and she gave it to HER friend because she got 2 of them. Well, this friend had wifi working when she had the data plan, went CRAZY with it, and had to pay bundles of money. Silly her for not getting a good data plan :P anyways, now she canceled her data plan, and now states that she can't connect via wifi to her access point. The access point shows up, but there is no check mark next to it. Is there supposed to be a check mark next to the access point if you DON'T have a data connection? Kind of how like you get gprs if you have no data connect and then GPRS if you do have a data connect? or edge vs EDGE?
The strange thing is, it's connected but not in white. It's greyed, but it connects to the access point. That's what's troubling me... It's greyed out, says the access point's name, and no green tick. On all my other blackberries (with data plans) there's a green tick no problem. Is it possible that the green tick represents connection to RIM's servers?
She doesn't have a data plan, as I said. I've also flashed her device and same thing. Greyed out but can browse the web via wifi, but no green tick mark.
