    Morning,

I did a quick search, but I could not find a problem similar to the one I'm currently experiencing.

Long story short, I ended up with another blackberry via work. I gave one (Bold 9700) to my wife so she could use. She does not have a data plan ( don't ask), but would like to use the wifi feature. Before she put her sim card in, she set up wifi and it was working. After she put in her sim card, it will not allow her to use the browser.

Also, any reason why she would not be able to send MMS text now?

    Thanks for your help.

not sure about mms but the browser requires connection to the rim servers which I believe you need to have a data plan in order to get the proxy of the rim servers

MMS definitely requires a data plan I'm afraid

that's odd. She previously used a BB curve with no data plan and was able to send MMS text messages.

I guess I just need to convince her to stop being cheap and get the darn data plan on her line.

Did you mean SMS? This doesn't require a data plan, but MMS does.

For the browser to work just need to change the settings for it to be on "hotspot broswer" and yes the mms will require a BB Data Plan.
