I have my wifi setup with my bold for my house wireless connection,do I need to do anything else in order to access any wifi hotspots(such as at McDonalds,etc?)? Or will I automagically acquire them?

When you go to McD's turn your Wi-Fi on, go to Set Up Wi-Fi connection, scan for networks. When you get the connection, select it. Then you will have it added, and the next time you go to the same McD's, and turn on your Wi-Fi it will automatically connect.

You need to add each new network so if you visit a different McD's you have to set it up again there, but if you go back to the same place with your Wi-Fi turned on, it will automatically connect.

I've always auto acquired the hotspots in McDonald's (three different stores so far) without any sort of intervention (except for having WiFi enabled, of course). The only McDonald's it didn't work at didn't seem to have an active Wireless access point.

I agree with any wi-fi I have ever had to connect to I have had to set up the connection.

I've only had to setup personal/business WiFi networks, that's odd that others have had to manually scan/add networks in McDonald's, and other AT&T WiFi spots. Those have been automatic for me thus far.
