Wifi connection issue curve 8900
- Hi. New to the site and hugely impressed by the wealth of information. I wonder if anyone would be kind enough to attempt to answer my question and help me solve my problem. Despite hours on forums and phonecalls I have not yet solved it.
I cannot access WIFI at present.
I am on a Uk Orange tariff with a dataplan and am a home user.
My Wifi icon is permantly greyed out despite successfully pairing with my home network (name appears on homescreen).
In 'Manage Connections' there is a white '-' instead of a green tick next to wifi
My Mobile voice and BIS are connected via 'Mobile Network. My BES is not connected
I am on 'Wifi preferred' and automatic
My wifi diagnostics are as follows:
Wi-Fi
Current Profile: Home
SSID: Home
AP MAC Address: ******
Security Type: WEP
Local IP Address: ********
Signal Level: -64 dBm
Connection Data Rate: 54 Mbps
Status: Network acquired
VPN
Current Profile:
Concentrator Address:
Contact: N/A
Authentication: N/A
Secure Device IP:
Status: VPN profile is not found.
UMA
Connection Pref.: Wi-Fi Preferred
UMA Wi-Fi Available: Successful
Connection: Error
Error Code:
Status: ISP error. DNS server cannot be reached.
BlackBerry Infrastructure
Connecting: Error
Authenticating router: N/A
Authenticating server: N/A
I have tried every combination of rebooting everything and re-connecting/pairing. I have tried options->advanced options->host routing table->register now many times. I have called Orange and Orange Business and the Blackberry bods at Orange and they all say everything is set up correctly and should work. I have read this forum and found something on RIM and sending me a new one which I think they did. I have tried updating to the latest software which I am now on.
I am lost as to what to do next as its still grey and dont fully understand all the above error reports....please help me from going mad-er! Thank you in advance!Last edited by clarkee_t; 10-28-09 at 04:56 AM.
10-27-09 06:47 PMLike 0 - Does your router have some kind of security enabled? My router has MAC filtering and so you can connect to it, but it won't let you access anything or the internet. Kinda sounds like what I see when that's the issue with my router. So maybe it has nothing to do with your phone at all.
