ok so im new to useing a BB but i entered my pass for my wifi connecttionand it says its connected but the icon is still grey.when i go to hotspot thats the only way it works but it wont let me just go to browser.any help?
oh and i had my services canceled if that matters

Settings>advance options>browser> change default browser configuration to hotspot browser

yea the browser needs to be set to hotspot in order to use it on wifi only without the data plan.

no you need a blackberry data plan in order for most apps to work. if your blackberry data plan has been canceled, alot of the stuff in the phone isnt going to work (like most apps, BBM, emails etc.)
