I was wondering how i can make my browser available to use for wifi, because i don't have a data plan.

That's all thats there, i can't even select Default browser configuration.

you dont even have a WAP/Hotspot browser icon? you should since that doesnt require a data plan. you sure you dont have it hiding anywhere in a folder? try show all icons?

Nope i've heard of them being hidden unless you have a data plan, but ive heard of people making them visible somehow

Also i tried downloading opera mini, but when it loads up it just says "no working network connection available". Even though i can see im connected to my home wifi network.

how could you try to download opera mini without a browser icon to go into??? do you have any globe browser icons on your homescreen?

i downloaded it on my computer then loaded it up via usb, and no globe icon

try hooking it up to DM and go into add applications. see if you can manually add a browser. if not, try an OS reinstall. i have never seen it where no browser was available.

Ok i'm about to reinstall the OS, one concern. My phone is unlocked, will it become locked once i reinstall the OS?

EDIT: If i save the ID code under the sim menu, can i use it to unlock it again if it becomes locked?

Once the phone is unlocked, it is unlocked. Upgrading the OS will not change that.

I need to reinstall the OS all together, which would be through the one specifiec to the service provider rogers, which i downloaded on blackberry.com, but i'm with fido. I would think it would reset everything wouldn't it?

well, ya stumped me.

ok i somehow managed to get to the browser by holding the menu key, however when it starts up it says "Your device does not currently have any browser configuration service book entries, please contact your service provider to enable the browser"
