Cell reception is terrible at my office, so every morning I set my brandnew 8900 to WiFi and have a working cell phone with UMA. This is so much better than being without a cell for 10-12 hours a day . . .but it could be better.

My question is: is there any way to set the 8900 to automatically login to my firm's WiFi network? My firm uses a captive portal, wherein someone who connects to the router and seeks to browse is redirected to a site that asks for a username and password. (Note: My 8900 connects automatically to the router, but has what a Windows PC would call a "limited conenction" until the login credentials are authenticated.) This username and password is incredibly long, and while I might be really lazy, I just wish I didn't have to go through this ritual. I've searched the forums and the Google, but have come up with nothing. DOes anyone know a way to make this happen?

As far as I know you will need to enter this information each time you want to connect. It is part of the security measures that your IT guys have in place.

I do believe aristile is correct... it's part of your IT environment.

We created a hotspot that is a Internet Only network with limited bandwidth so users can auto join it.

    Sounds like an IT workaround.
