With Sprint, is WIFI usage free or do they still charge you per KB? My wife and I are thinking about getting either the curve 2 or tour 2 with WIFI and my work has cut my pay a little, so we don't have enough money to pay for the BIS service anymore. Hope this makes sense.

wifi is free because you aren't using the mobile network.

But a lot of BB features don't work without a BIS plan (or require workarounds) even if on wifi.

how could a provider possibly charge for wifi on a phone??

sure, maybe for a nationwide/global "hot spot" plan, but seriously... how could they meter that on private networks, nor would they even be in 'jurisdiction' on that.

You could always be like verizon and just disable the wifi on some of your phones... Haha but it doesn't charge for wifi... How would you get a blackberr now anyways without a data plan? And why?
