Wow, I did not know this!

Haha makes me appreciate these phones more anyway.

I do not really need/want 1080p or 4k displays on a phone.

I would rather take the extra battery.

Agreed. Replaceable batteries are underrated in today's smartphone usage!

Slight correction on those pixel densities, iPhone 6s is higher.GSM Arena has the 6s plus info listed for 6s. Oops.

• iPhone 6s display is 4.7" at 1080x1920 = 401ppi 1334x750 = 324ppi
• Z10 is 4.2" at 768x1280 = 356ppi
• Q10 is 3.1" at 720 x 720 = 329ppi

Also there's larger displays, such as the LG G3 or G4 2K screens (5.5" at 1440x2560 = 538ppi) that still pack a removeable battery.

I agree that there are other phones with removable batteries. But it is a rarity in the market.

And I would say BlackBerry is the only one to fully utilize this feature by providing accessories such as a battery charger bundle. Without the battery charger bundle, having a removable battery would be a lot less useful.

I don't know if the manufacturing of Z10 batteries is still on going, but imagine if it was discontinued in 2014 or 2015, it was sitting in the store shelf for more than a year. That in mind, I wouldn't expect a "newly-bought, brand-new" battery for an old phone model to be of the same performance of the original.

Indeed. Of course if battery longevity is a concern you can always get an extended battery. Or just have 2 or 3 OEM batteries on hand that you can easily swap.

Can't do either of those things with a sealed battery.

The only problem with constantly swapping batteries is degrading the electrical contacts, thus making the device shut down when shaken or moved, can be remedied by a thin paper insert, though.

The only reason I left my Q10 for a Classic...and ultimately a Passport...screen was too dark and too small, and the processor too slow. Other than that I still prefer the form factor...although I still miss the toolbelt from the Classic! Z10 I always considered a wannabe iPhone (no offence to anyone here!) I still can't believe they released it before the Q10. Small all touch devices always seem to have battery issues...plus the fit and finish was kind of low end compared to a Q10, particularly the back.

I remember the time I got my Z10, it was still 10.0. And it wouldn't get past 6 hours of battery life, unless you turn OFF your data.

That's why it's pretty much useless to purchase batteries as a future replacement for an aging phone because the battery will degrade whether you use it or not.
