I'm an iPhone user and I want BBM because I like the look of The BBM app! I'm so use to it from being a blackberry user for so long.. They say you don't know what you miss until it's gone well I miss BBM!
Because many of them have used it once and know that bbm is much better and faster than any other im apps.

ask the million of users that bought it last weekend why they want it !!
Exactly.

Reliability once launched. Cost. Design. Range of ability.

From friends I talk to its simply because it's the best they have used and secure.
I don't think it is for everyone and I do see people turning there nose up to BlackBerry but those who have used it definitely miss it.
Let's hope the delay isn't too long

People will try new things... who would've thought that fb will take off? People are curious.."New thing... oh I gotta try it..." that simple..
My wife has an iPhone 5, as do I. But I also have a Q10. I would like to be able to message her using the keyboard on the Q10 without using text messages. Especially when I am outside the US.
This is probably EXACTLY what BlackBerry execs had in mind.
Because I'm ex blackberry user and that's the only this I miss from blackberry and many of my friends still using it.

BBM is great. Why not? It has a good legacy.
Now if BlackBerry could just get it released.

Because people just can't stand Whatsapp and how ugly it looks.

Could someone tell me the difference between BBM and a text message? I have used BBM only a few times but couldn't see the advantage over just texting. But as I said I have very little experience with it.

I don't know anyone personally who still uses a blackberry so I'm wondering the same thing. For most users the hard part would be convincing everyone to download another msg app. Hangouts and whatsapp work just fine. The mad rush of downloads for BBM will most likely be followed by uninstalls after they play with it. It's a new toy that's been a long time coming.
I'll admit I plan on installing it just because it's been so long in the making I want to check it out but I very seriously doubt it will stay on my phone.

I have one friend that has Z10 so I only have 1 reason to install BBM on my S4. The rest of my contacts I'll use WhatsApp
From the buz on twitter, Facebook, instagram.. i don't even care why they would want it..all that matters is they do

I'm in a bbm group currently with people all over the world. Saw a post on crackberry where someone created a bbm group called "z10 and q10 lounge." simply scanned the group's barcode with my phone and in no time I was in the group. No need to give out my phone number. Now the group has members ranging from the Philippines to the united States. We have several different chat rooms within the group, such as video games, sports or politics. We share pictures and comment on them. If you don't like the group you can leave the group, and if you feel like someone is being a creepster you can simply block him or her. Try doing all that with texting.

I want BBM because as former BlackBerry users, the wife and I are familiar with how BBM works. We've tried a lot of IM products and I believe BBM would fill our needs perfectly.
Well, going cross platform would give you more than one reason as it would allow all of your contacts (aside from windows users) to install BBM on their phones as well.
You forgot to add "in less than 8 hours..."
Most my friends are on what's app however. Most are on the 1st free year. Will they pay after that some might and some won't especially if bbm is out by the time what's app runs out
NSA proof. means no spying from big brother. Well if you have a driod and iphone your getting spied on anyways.
But also, bbm is pin no need to give ur number out. which is big for me
Oh and Whats app is a huge battery HOG and lags. Messages take long
D and R...... Such wonderful little letters to keep sanity sometimes.
