    Read it again Geinuses......

WIFI is not going to be any Faster then EVDO....BECAUSE OF THE PHONE PROCESSING POWER, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT TECHNOLOGY IS FASTER....

WIFI ON A PHONE IS GOING TO GIVE YOU THE SAME SPEEDS AS EVDO BECAUSE OF THE PHONE'S PROCESSING POWER.....

UNTIL A PHONE IS RELEASED THAT CAN HANDLE HIGHER SPEEDS THIS IS WHAT YOU'VE GOT.

Hope that makes it simpler. MY GOD!
Your pretty hard headed aren't you ? Until you try it their is no conversation. Web pages load faster on a WiFi signal period.

Wifi is great for me because we don't have 3G coverage where I live, and I have access to wifi at work and home. Some days I don't even turn it off. It's definately faster than edge.

you're not missing anything without 3G, WiFi is faster than that too

I had WiFi on my PPC previously and it killed the battery so much faster than EVDO, it just wasn't worth the speed increase. Also doesn't work many places that I traveled, where the data network did. WiFi is not critical for me based on my needs. UMA could make WiFi worth it.

I can understand both sides of this saying processing power and wifi but the thing you need to remember is the fact that a wireless connection that is available basically hrm, idk 50 to 100 ft in your home is going to perform better than EVDO because the signal is much strong (for obvious reasons). Processing power or not, its still going to send information to your phone faster. Whether or not the phone processes all the information as fast as it sends it is a different story. So maybe that'll clarify things alittle more

^^^^^ Yes, thank you someone understands.......A phone in today 2008 cannot, i repeat cannot render web pages and data fast enough for wifi speed to be considerably noticable over EVDO or HSDPA.....The phones processors are not capable of matching that amount of Speed.

This is NOT about the technology, YES WIFI is Faster we ALL KNOW THIS......

But your not going to notice it, with the processors in Todays phones, any one who states otherwise, either is not getting full evdo speeds or are simply Lying to make a case....

ITS NOT POSSIBLE. PERIOD POINT BLANK

In my opinion, as stated above, wifi is not a huge deal; i have never complained about the storm's lack of wifi...BUT it would be a nice extra...especially for those who work in an office space where there is a wifi network, and at the same time receive little service (I know many who have this situation). The same situation arises for college/grad students and their classrooms. There are other similar instances where it would be nice to have, but its definitely not a deal breaker IMO.

Wi-Fi is good because you can still have internet in certain areas AND NOT PAY for the data plan through your service carrier.

I'm a college student so money is very tight and I try to save as much as I can. Everywhere I go, on campus, book stores, coffee shops, always have free wi-fi so its very convenient for me. I can check my email while waiting in my college lecture hall and not have to lug my heavy laptop aroud!

Plus...did I mention its free internet access? FREE

Exactly and when you consider the load on EVDO and 3G during certain peak hours WiFi is very useful. This same issue is why people with 3G IPhones are having performance issues,AT&T's system is overloaded.
