Nothing new or exciting in that report. Carriers keep increasing the price of text messages because it is becoming ever popular (even with older users) and they see the profit that can be made.

I read that article this morning. Very seriously doubt anything will be done.
i dont see why anyone (except maybe elderly people who dont text) would still be paying per text. unlimited text is a best value on most carriers.
even if you only avg 2 texts per day (one sent, one received) in a month u would spend .... 60 texts per month x .20 per msg=$12 per month.
i think even verizon (one the more expensive carriers) only charges $10 a month for unlimited text.
so i feel like yes the prices are rising...but it doesnt effect the majority of people. the carriers are probably doing it to push people into unlmtd text plans.
AT&T is +$5 for 200 text messages and no free in network... Kinda sucks... I already pay 75$ a month for data and 450 minutes.. Text messages are BS.. I wish everyone had a Blackberry, then I'd just PIN them or BBM them... bah
