With Facebook buying WA for 16b, do you think it would be logical for BBM and linkedin to merge somehow? Maybe be the official secure business messaging service for the over 250m worldwide linkedin users? (+ over 80m already existing BBM users)

Then I would stop using BBM. For me privacy is important and LinkedIn hasn't shown those credentials.

It would be fantastic if there was a Li plug-in for those who would prefer it.
You need to learn what Linkedin is for.
I'm not particularly suggesting a direct acquisition of BBM by LI, rather some type of partnership to broaden the overall user base. Blackberry and Linkedin are both great business tools used by professionals.

I am aware of what LinkedIn is for. Spamming me with so-called "endorsements" and allowing people to I have never heard of to add me to their network merely to spam me some more, as well as charging a ridiculous subscription for anything remotely useful.

I am not saying you are unprofessional, in fact I don't even have a LinkedIn account (it sounds like you do). All I know is that it has proven to be a valuable tool used by many companies both big and small to remain in contact with current and prospective employees.
