I am waiting for BB10. Not because I don't want a BB7 phone because believe I would love the Bold 9900 but I only have one upgrade and I don't have the money to buy a brand new $600 Blackberry. Ill upgrade if the price is right but that's it.
I did upgrade to OS7, at first I decided that I'll buy a Bold 9900 but I realized hat I might be needing a tablet... So I bought a Curve 9360 and a Playbook XD. It was worth it.
I upgraded to OS7. I'm in no rush or panic for BB10 and really could care less about it. I'm sure i'll look forward to it when my next upgrade comes around but until then OS7 suits me just fine and I'm happy with it.
I upgraded to OS7 in February 2012. A tad late, but I had only gotten the 9800 in March 2011. Had to wait for the prices to drop and ask a friend to pull a few strings for me.
I go with what's here now. At the moment I'm not as anxious for the arrival of BB10 as I was for BB7; but then I've only had this 9900 for four months, so that could possibly change as the year drags on. I'm more curious than anything to see what the BB10 devices will look like, but so far it isn't something I gottahave.
9700 still works well and I buy all my phones used and the 9900 hasn't come down to what I am willing to pay. I want a Tmobile branded one in excellent condition for around 350.
I'm on a 2 year contract with Vodo UK which is not up until June this year for renewal. I could wait for BB10 I guess but, not wanting to pay any additional fees, I will probably go for an OS7 device on my free upgrade.
I'm still very happy running my old 9700 on OS6 so I'm in no great sweat about it.
I'm new to BB so not really an upgrade but I have a BB7 device. Has there actually been reports bb7 isn't selling well? That was the the title of another thread but the poster never backed up his claim.
1. Locked into contract until at least May.
2. Any current device probably won't upgrade to BB10, so may as well wait the extra (up to) 6 months for it.
3. Battery life on 9900.
Hardware.
Badly want a 9900 for the looks and keyboard, can even deal with the battery issues seeing as how I can carry a spare, but I need on a regular basis to use my phone to take pics of business cards, notes etc as my BlackBerry is my main organiser.
With the camera on the 9900 this isn't an option, so sadly an 'upgrade' is out of the question at the moment.
Because I am still under contract with my 9800 and to be honest OS7 still doesn't do what I want from my phone so I wouldn't sign a contract to be tied into it even if I was eligable for an upgrade now.
I got the 9900 six months ago and am still loving it. I'm sure I'll want the bold version of BB 10 when it comes out as well. Or the torch version. The Milan looked pretty cool even though it was supposedly killed off.
I don't know about obsolete but I'm sure it will still work and do things just like I'm sure if I dust off my tour and activate it will still do everything it did.
Why would I get a OS7 device when its slatted to be completely obsolete when bb10 comes?

No more obsolete than BB6 was when BB7 dropped, and there are still a LOT of BB6 and BB5 devices out there pulling duty quite reliably. Unless there's something going on that I don't know about and BB7 will suddenly stop working.
