Some history.
Been looking for a replacement for our current aging Exchange/BES setup. Looking at Google Apps Premier but the BIS<>Gmail IMap connection (according to my research) seems sketchy.
The consipracy theorist in me wonders if the RIM/Yahoo alliance has anything to do with the fact that yahoo email 2-way syncs over BIS but gmail seems to be lagging behind on that feature.

I have my Gmail account set up on the BIS and I used the IMAP settings (which I found on here) and everything syncs as far as my emails. If I read them on my BB, they show up as being read on the PC and the same when it comes to deleting the items. So I'm not really sure what type of issues you are having with your Gmail syncing.
That's one-way sync. Two-way sync would be if you could read your mail on a web browser, and it would mark as read on your blackberry. Yahoo does this currently, Gmail does not.
I am shocked how long it's taking for RIM and Google to make this happen.
