I deleted an old mobile number from my Blackberry that is running 10.3 and replaced it with a new number for the person. But when I try to text the person the old number appears again. I have checked that the old number really has gone from Contacts. How can I stop it from suggesting the old number?

I believe the "recently used" cache is different from the contacts list. I assume you changed the contact info, so I believe it will disappear eventually over time. However try going into the text messages app (which takes you to the hub) choosing settings from the "3 dot" menu, and changing settings under "Recent Contact Management"
