Why is it that we can put men and women in space have them orbit the earth for day, weeks and months, but we can't seem to get someone who can design the flash player to work on blackberry devices?

It has more to do with Adobe than anything. Having flash player on any mobile device would take up a ton of battery life. But I'm sure one day flash will be available. Probably on the iPhone first.

Probably the same reason engineers couldn't design reliable wheels on luggage until the 1980's.

I hope Flash will be made available to BB users!! At least for those with the latest generations of Bold/Curve/Storm etc. I'm sure the processors are good enough to handle flash content, no?

The symbian os (found mainly on nokia phones) supports a mobile version of flash, I think the name is flash lite or something like that.

Sony Ericsson's can also use Flash Lite for their phone menus, but that's it, doesn't work for viewing web pages.

Yeah I'm pretty frustrated with the no flash limitation. Probably the thing that gets me the most about BB.

Searching for answer since oct 08. RIM has never acknowledged a need. I have contacted adobe many time and they are even less responsive.

What would make flash use so much more power ?
Do they have flash ported to any other pda's?

Flash Lite on Nokias works fine within its limits - easier to save flash files than on a pc as well.

So many of the requests for time killing apps would be sorted by having a player on BBs - soundboards and so on abound, after all.

Adobe has gone on record as saying they're dropping support for Flash on any mobile device, so, to answer your question, why would they go and build support for a new set of devices when they're no longer supporting the product itself?

Why are you resurrecting a 4 year old thread?

Probably because he did his worked and searched the forums before creating a new post. And thus doesn't have to hear everyone beating a dead horse about making a new threads. And to search for it before asking
