    This happens with numerous different conversations. After about 5 minutes of talking the person on the other end claims they now can't hear me, that they hear faint static and I sound very distant. I have to call back and everything is fine. I changed batteries but still happens. Any ideas?

    Could be your carrier. Have you called them to complain?
