    After reading this thread I checked my assistant and discovered that she had in fact stopped talking to me also... Followed the above quoted directions - turned all the setting options OFF, picked English (UK) power cycled via soft reset - and then after reboot turned all settings back on and moved to English (US) and sure enough she was speaking again... This WAS exactly the remedy that fixed mine...
