I had done a similar thread earlier. But that was just a tease to people's imagination.

For better or worse, now it seems a lot more likely to happen. Theres a lot more at stake.

So who you to rather bought Blackberry? And why?

Please use the poll so our choices can be heard loud and clear.

Looks like I am the first to vote. Let me explain my logic:

Google would likely only buy to get the security and finally make Android safe but other than that, BB is only a minor competitor.

Amazon just doesn't make sense to me.

    Sony could care less.

I think the only one of merit is Samsung as they have long wanted to get away from Android and Tizan (or whatever it is called) is not going to make it. Samsung has shown they can be a major player so what better way to step away from Android but to buy a whole new OS that works and leverage that into their huge market share.

Just my two cents to play with the poll. No matter what, I hope BB survives as I have recently purchased a Galaxy Note 8 and while it is a very nice tablet, I just cannot stand the way email is handled and the UI seems half a$$ed to me.

    Love the Berries!

Samsung, Apple or Microsoft would all be interested in the security patents and enterprise customers...

I wouldnt want any Apple, Google and Microsoft buying Blackberry. As that would = extra security, BES, patents and BBM for them. They already have their own Modern OS, they dont need BB10.

Samsung could be a good option but I dont see how this could be good for competition as it would make them just a little bit more strong in comparison to where they already are.

My pick would be Sony. They make great, beautiful and innovative hardware. They are still much much bigger than Blackberry and most importantly, they could actually use BB10 for what it is. Develop it further, make it better. Not just take bits of it and put them on their current Android line of phones. I' am sure they see the need to diversify since Samsung is the king of Android ATM.

HTC is good too, but they seem to be almost if not just as bad as Blackberry in terms of financial health.

Amazon, Jeff Bezos is an enigmatic visionary. Amazon S3, BlackBerry security, and BES10, there are synergies here. Bezos understands consumer market and could do wonders in marketing BB10.

I think IBM is most likely to pull the trigger for a number of reasons.

Services - yahoo - they need a hardware partner, they should have tried to get a bbm deal, etc. I don't use Yahoo but both companies are drowning in competition

Hardware - Sony actually makes good sense, much prefer them over Sammy

So far Sony is leading in the poll. I really wish we could see a new innovations from BB on the software and services side and Sony on the hardware side!!

Since Nokia is currently deep in a bromance with Microsoft, I dont see them forming any sort of partnership or joint venture with BB.

Ideally none of the above. Don't see a scenario where a buyer keeps BlackBerry in the smartphone business.

If BlackBerry stay the way they are, maybe they will get thing right and maybe they will gain traction. But a new "bosses" isn't going be willing to loose 3-Billion ( or more) on trying.

It's just non sense to think that BB will be sold to an offshore company, with all the BB security and secure server that are used by the US/canadian government etc. They just wont allow it.
