As much as I'd love to see a Sony-like sensor for in a BlackBerry camera, I find that the Passport camera is quite good provided that you don't use the Auto setting and don't rely on autofocus. I choose the mode according to conditions and tap the spot I want to focus on. Great photos every time.

I've seen too many crappy iPhone photos to say anything good about its camera. It's all about the user. The same goes for a DSLR - if you don't use it properly, you'll have bad photos. Skill matters.

We have a Z10 And a iPhone 5 there is not a shadow of doubt in my mind that the iPhone takes a better picture.

BUT

I only paid $199 for the Z10 so I am OK with it.

I'm a photography enthusiast. I own a nikon D610, D7000, Sony nex6 and a bunch of primes and constant aperture zooms.

I have a iphone 5 and I'll admit the focusing is much faster and more precise but I'm convinced that the problem on the passport is software based and once sorted it'll be able to take better pictures than my iphone 5.

FYI under some circumstances I've been able to take better pictures on my q10 or z30 compared to my iphone5 but it has always taken patience to do so.
